Diamonds are a girl’s best friend

9 December, 2011

Searching for a bit of sparkle to make some Christmas lists for the blog, I came across some extremely beautiful stud earrings and necklaces. And what is more sparkly than a diamond? Of course I couldn’t resist browsing through the site. After all diamonds are a girl’s best friend.

I found some amazing pieces, totally customizable, with a 60 day money back guarantee, and international shipping, than I had to share with you.

All photos were taken from 77diamonds’ Facebook page

Unfortunately I cannot afford diamonds right now, but a girl can dream, right? Although, Christmas is near and I’ve been really good this year. Do you hear me Santa?

Since I was already on the site, I thought I’d take a quick glance at the engagement rings. I think it’s every girl’s dream to receive a beautiful diamond ring to go with a wedding proposal from the man of her life.

Oh I shouldn’t have! ‘Cause from the moment I let my eyes on them I was smitten. Such a beauty! I can definitely see me wearing some of those.

Ok, so I know that diamonds are quite expensive, but a girl shouldn’t buy these herself. So why don’t you let your computer “randomly” on this post, when he’s near (and walk away for a few minutes, so he can see it), to give him a hint? We don’t want to scare him though. So do it only if your relationship is going there, or you’ve already been talking about weddings and stuff.

If you are the Boyfriend who’s reading this post, (hi there!), please don’t kill me for saying these things to your girlfriend. But since you’re here, I have to tell you that if you’re looking for a romantic way to propose, I should inform you that Valentine’s Day is not the only romantic day to do so. Christmas can be quite romantic too, with the lights and the food and the champagne…Or what about New Year’s Eve? You can have someone turn off the lights at the right time and fall on your knees with the ring on your hands, and then turn them back on, to let her see you while you’re proposing to her. Wouldn’t that be romantic? Think about it. It would be a day to remember for sure!

And while thinking about it why don’t you take a look at, to see more totally customizable rings and other diamond jewels for some inspiration? I’m sure your girl will jump of happiness when she sees any of these engagement rings. Plus they’re offering 10% discount on all wedding bands and eternity rings, if you buy your engagement ring from them, until December 31st (to be used until 31st of March 2012, with a promotional code upon purchase). No T., this is not a hint for you. Although, is it? *blush*

Did your pick your favourite piece? I saw many rings and pendants that I would gladly wear. Although, if anyone’s interested, my favourite one was “Principessa” engagement ring in platinum. Such a classic piece! What’s your favourite? I would like to hear your thoughts…

  1. Oh, such a nice post! I knew you would post today, so I came a bit earlier and nothing, then I waited for some hours and I was rewarded! Very very nice post, sweet and funny!
When I was reading about “leaving the screen on this post”, so boyfriends could see it, I thought “and then they go on reading and see it was on purpose”… and then I read you addressed to the boyfriends as well, and in such a sweet way! I agree with you, there are many days and ways that are special and romantic for that! As for me, some tight people say “your mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother left you so many diamonds, you don’t need more”. Horrible to say that!!!! Those are pieces that are meaningful to my family, not linked to such a moment – but alas, not very open minded people, I think.
Well, I’ll tell you a story, very funny, and oh-my-God, involves a girl from Salonica. Anyway, it’s over, she can read it now.
I have a friend who wanted to get engaged. As I like to shop on internet, he asked me if I had any engagement rings’ site suggestion. I sent the link to him, he showed me the ring, very beautiful. He got engaged. Wedding date booked. Renovating the flat. A few months before the wedding, she decided to break up, but keeping the ring. He wanted it back. It was a battle for her to give it back. He asked me “do you think it’s a bad omen if I give it to another girl in the future?”
Hahaha, yes, I said, I think so!
Anyway, I confess I don’t know what she should have done, or my friend himself. Keeping the ring, with bad memories… for both sides, must not be good… but anyway, she gave it back upon his insistence, he kept it.
I hope it doesn’t happen to your readers! (Well, as I said, she might be reading it right now… :0
    Filakia pollaaaaaaa!

    • hehe don’t worry, I don’t think she will read it. There are so many blogs on the internet, it would be such a coincidence to read mine. 🙂 I know many similar stories. And to tell you the truth, I don’t like formal engagements, just a proposal and a beautiful ring is enough. The only reason I would ever like to be engaged will be to have a ring like that. They are much more beautiful than wedding rings, which are usually really plain and boring.
Thank you for saying that you liked my post and you found it sweet and funny. Because I was hoping to make it sound like this. I was smiling when I was writing it, and I had the moment of the proposal on my mind, and then I found the 3rd picture, which was perfect for the text I was writing. A Christmas eve proposal would be so sweet, and a nice day to remember.
And while writing about the ladies leaving their computer “randomly” open on this page, I thought that some of them might do it, so it would be a funny thing to adress the boyfriends too…hehe 🙂 Glad you liked it.
And I know that by now you know that most of the times I write every 3 days, and actually I hadn’t thought of it until you told me, but I’m thinking to make some posts this month more often. We’ll see. I’m letting the posts get more noticed by people this way, and I don’t get so pressured by time to write the next one. It helps me stay on schedule. Oh and I noticed that I usually have the post up on the blog somewehere around 1-2 p.m. GMT+2 (Greece’s time, hehe), if that helps. It’s because I usually get up extremely late, which means after 12 o’clock.
      Filakia polla my sweety!

  4. Nice post M. I love the classic looking North Star one, it’s so simple and perfect. Having said that I’m also a big fan of more intricate jewellery designs like Konstantino from Greece (I think it’s on Pandrossou Street), so many choices but it’s not mine to make 🙂 Have a lovely weekend!!

  5. For some weird reason I don’t like diamonds and rings – maybe it has to do with karma & previous life, I don’t know 🙂 – but your copy made me laugh a lot 🙂
As for the engagement stories that ended up with both sides claiming the ring after breaking up…. what can I say? Never give to a girl something she wants more than u 🙂

    • hahahaha You’re right. Some women love their jewellery more than anything. 🙂
I’m glad you liked the text of the post! I was laughing too when I was writing it.
