Prom season 2014 – Find the best prom dress for you

4 May, 2014

let's go to the promProm season is here, and I get lots of emails from my international readers, asking me what my recommendations for their special day are. I try to come up with such posts every year, since many of you attend your school’s proms, and even though we didn’t have special proms in my school, I really like the whole idea and concept.  This year, all my suggestions come from, a really amazing e-shop I found, which specializes in prom dresses and other special occasion dresses, so you can look your best on your special night (all photos belong to them).

I’m going to start with the most obvious choice, which is the Long Prom Dresses. I think that every girl imagines herself in a beautiful dress that touches the ground as she moves around, and keeps dancing all night long. I’m a strong believer that a dress shouldn’t be bought to wear only once (unless it is a wedding dress of course), so I’d pick a monochrome dress that could be worn in other occasions in the future as well, such as weddings, and christenings. My favorite pick from that category is this Burgundy A-line dress with ruffles to make it more playful. A perfect choice for a young yet stylish and elegant gal!

For those of you who don’t feel comfortable in long dresses, or prefer something that looks younger, you will find whatever you need in the Short Prom Dresses category. Since prom is a special occasion for every girl, if you decide to go with a short dress, make sure that it has something eye-catching on it, such as tulle or lace. Double points for the dress that has both of them, like this beautiful A-line bateau, tulle dress with lace.  You will look like a modern day princess. Just make sure not to overdo it with the accessories. Pick some neutrals to make the dress the protagonist of the outfit.

You will definitely find something drool-worthy there, and you will keep your wallet happy. Because looking stylish and stunning doesn’t have to be expensive. My suggestion for choosing the best inexpensive dress for your prom is to try and stay away from rhinestones, and too many embellishments, like beading, and appliques. To have a classy result, pick a monochrome floor length gown, like this A-line V-neck chiffon pearl pink dress with ruffles, and choose bolder accessories, to make it outstanding. You will get so many compliments and no one will have a clue that your dress was so cheap. And you will definitely get to wear this dress so many times in the future that the cost per wear will be next to nothing.

So pick your prom dress now, and have an amazing time on your prom night!
