Green with envy

11 June, 2011

DSC01237The title has nothing to do with the actual post except for the colour in it, but I like playing with words. This is the outfit I wore on Wednesday. It was my mother’s nameday and we had, once more, guests in our house. Yes, we love having guests in our house and cook for them, it makes us really happy. If you haven’t figured it out yet, here in Greece we love combining our entertainment with food. In fact, these two are almost always linked together. Ah, what can I say, as a Taurus myself, food is always entertainment for me, and when you add the Greek factor, you get an even worse result. Hehe

Let’s go to the outfit part now.

I was wearing: Killah dress, black Toi & Moi strapless top inside the dress, no name leather bag (previously seen here), Capodarte peep-toe pumps, random hoop earrings, vintage watch, Dyrberg/Kern cuff bracelet, and my YSL arty oval ring in Aqua.  And of course, my trusty Donna Karan sunglasses.

Some details of the outfit, and a shaky view of the back of the dress, which I shot by accident.

I just love those shoes. I’ve bought them a few years ago, and they were my first peep toe pumps. It was love at first sight, (which is something that only happens to me with items and not with people, hehe), and the most expensive pair of shoes I owned back then. They are the most comfortable heels I own, and they have never let me down, even when my feet were full of blisters by a pair of flats (hate flats – they always give me bad blisters).

And of course, I had to take a close up picture of my nails, to show you this sweet color. It’s a hot pink, by Erre Due Exclusive No. 117, as seen on my previous post. I didn’t want to do an entire post just to show you these, I don’t want to tire you, but it was a good chance to show you the details of my shoes too. So, what do you think?

Also I have something to share with you, so bear with me a little longer.

In these first 10 days of June, I managed to gain as much unique visitors as the entire last month (which was a great number too). So, I want to thank you all, my dear readers, for being there, reading my blog and supporting me with your lovely comments. It means so much to me, that you like what I have to write, and that some of you are even following me, either with Facebook or BlogLovin’.

I’m so happy, and I promise you to keep improving the content of this blog.

I would love to read your thoughts or even answer some questions you may have. You can ask me anything you want, and if you have a suggestion I would be glad to consider it. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, I really appreciate it.

  1. Wow, what for a lovely dress and lovely shoes! I love green and the bag is simply amaaaaaaaaazing, I told you that before! Can you believe that after the post about the bag I was on internet looking for a similar one? And obviously, I didn’t find it! Simply lovely! Very good choice!
Also, for the second time, such a coincidence – I was looking for a Killah dress today, that I simply loved (oh, I love so many things! Love is my favorite word, and feeling too!) and then you posted this lovely one, by Killah, exactly today too? Wow!
The nails are perfect, I liked the color very much! So, everything was just perfect as usual! (you could have been a model, if you wanted! I told you that before!)
Now, the readers’ numbers: congratulations! I am very happy for you and proud of you! I told you – you are amazing, so sweet, your blog is amazing and reflects your personality! I confess I come here everyday to see if you posted something! You know this! So, go on with the nice job and you’ll get even more readers, day after day!
And because you are a Taurus… I totally understand the connection food = sign! It’s excellent! After all, cooking for friends show… love, friendship and consideration! It’s worth it!
I know I owe you a reply, but I’m still packing… and need to be insipired to answer the way I feel like… I know you’ll say “don’t worry”, but I don’t like to answer late… but now… yes, I need to finish things soon… only 5 days more! (Wow, I deserve what comes next!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 Filakia!!!! And have a great weekend!

    • Hey Denise, thank you for your lovely comment once again! What a coincidence again! It seems that we have some kind of connection! hehe…
I’m glad that you liked my look, I love this dress (and the word love too!), I have it for 3-4 years now, and I’m wearing it all the time during summer.
I’m so excited about the numbers, ’cause even though I don’t have so many comments or followers on my blog (I don’t like the “follow me & I’ll follow you back” technique) I know there are many people out there reading my blog, and I was pleased to see that the numbers have “massively” grown this month. I’m proud of my little blog, because I put a lot of effort in it, and I really enjoy it. Although I’m still at the beginning of it, I have so many things that I want to share with my readers.
I completely understand, and of course I’ll say don’t you worry…Take your time, finish your packing and when you’ll have time I know that we’ll talk.
Have a great weekend too!! Filakia polla Denise!! 🙂

      • 🙂 Me again, during a break on packing (I packed soooo many things today… I planned to get all readyby tomorrow and then leave Monday and Tuesday to decide what goes with me to England… one suitcase is already packed for 10 days already – I’m organized…!)
I also don’t like the “follow me, I’ll follow you” technique…
Now I just came back to read your comment (I felt it would be here now!!!) and to say – I forgot to – that when I saw your nails for the first time, the sentende “doyouspeakgossip” on your thumb drew my attention – it’s the same color as the polish! Then I thought it was either polish or a cut! Thank God it’s not!
        Have a greeeeeat Saturday!

        • Hi again Denise! 🙂 I’m glad that you did a lot of packing today, so you can relax a little bit. I’ve never moved, but it sounds very tiring. I like to be as organised as possible, too. It’s a good thing.
Hehe, yes it could be an ugly cut, or polish, I didn’t think of it like that, but fortunately it’s my “copyright”. I have a thing and I don’t want to have my pictures stolen and distributed all over the internet, so I put my logo on an obvious spot, preferably somewhere where it won’t be so easy to remove it. I know that it won’t stop many people from using my pictures, but it’s better than just leaving them “exposed”.
Have a great Saturday too sweety!! And please, stop packing for a while, and relax. 🙂

  2. This outfit is just gorgeous! I love the all-green look, and the pink nails go so well with it! As an Italian, I totally understand about celebrating with food, too – it seems that’s all we ever do!

And thank you so much for all the lovely comments! 🙂

I didn’t know that in Greece You have nameday as well. I came from Latvia just live at the moment in Ireland. In Latvia we have namedays as well.
    Happy nameday to your mom!

    xoxo Ra

    • Thank you for your lovely comment Ramona!
Most people in Greece are orthodox christians, so we have namedays too. Not everyone has a name day, but the majority does. I’m actually lucky enough to have two name days… 🙂

  5. hey dear!i love the green of the bag!in fact green is one of the happiest colours for me!:)
thank you for your comment!i decided to give a try to blog lovin as well, so I m following you there also!

    • Green is one of my favourite colors for Spring-Summer…
Thank you so much for following me and for commenting…Bloglovin’ is really easy to learn and very useful for every blogger (or anyone interested in reading blogs). It really helped me organize the blogs I’m reading (they are so many!!) and it’s keeping me updated while saving my precious time. Before Bloglovin’ I used to bookmark all the blogs I was interested in, but it’s a very tiring procedure!
