my month in pics - june 2015 - DoYouSpeakGossip.com

Boy, this month started much better than it ended! You all know what Greece is going through these days, but we’re not here to talk about that. This blog is my outlet so let’s keep it positive, shall we? This month I got to show you 7 outfits, and then I hit pause, because the weather didn’t permit me to photograph some looks, so I had to take a step back. Now, I already have photos for my next posts, and if everything goes well, I’m going to upload them one by one. And honestly, can’t wait. With everything going on these days, I need the distraction! As usual you’ll find all the links to my outfits, below, along with my feed on Instagram for the month of June. If you don’t follow me there yet, make sure to follow me now @DoYouSpeakGossip.

• Thank you my dear Denise! It’s actually a beautiful midi dress, and you’re gonna see it on the blog really soon! I was dying to show it. But it will have to wait till next week.
      Makia!

  3. Yay! I just followed you on Instagram and completely stalked your profile! I love your pictures-especially your nail ones. My nails do not look as amazing as yours in your pictures and I am envious. Anyway, I hope that following you will help me keep in touch with you easier 🙂

    • Aww thank you so much! I followed you back! 🙂 Glad we found each other there too! 🙂
You’re super sweet! I was lucky to be born with natural long nails (I’m talking about the base of course), but I like to keep them even longer most of the times. Thank you!

  4. I’ve commented here before, but in Greek 😉
I thought I’d do it in English this time because I don’t think talking about the current situation in Greece on this blog would diminish its value in any way, rather to the contrary. In my opinion the rest of Europe needs the valuable insight into Greek daily life blogs like yours could provide them with. I find it highly interesting how creative and talented people like you and the Stylishly Beautiful team cope during a humanitarian crisis like this. Having said that, I totally get that this piece of the internet is your safe haven and you don’t want to ruin that. I guess my point is just, if you feel you need to rant, go for it – don’t be concerned you’re killing the reader’s vibe.
Thinking of everyone in Greece so much right now! Sending you lots of positive thoughts and prayers Markella. xox

    • Hi Georgia, I remember your old comment. 😉 Thank you so much for commenting again, and even more for your very kind words about my blog and me.
I didn’t choose to talk about the current situation in Greece on my blog (or any of my social media accounts), not because it diminishes their value, but because I’m sick and tired of reading about it everywhere on the Internet these days. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and I respect that. But the only things I read these days is Facebook statuses about our situation, our politicians, the referendum, that only lead to people fighting with each other. And I don’t want that. We all know how bad the situation is, but it doesn’t add anything constructive to fight about it all day long.

What I meant to say with my post, is that, of course I know how bad the situation of my country is (I’m neither ignorant, nor superficial), of course I’m super worried about its future, and my future too, but there’s no point writing about it either here, or on Facebook (for example), because it will only lead to another place for people to fight about their different opinions on the matter.
This blog is indeed my safe haven, and I want to keep it positive. I want it to be able to distract me and my readers, and help us forget our problems, even if it’s just for a few minutes. It’s good to be able to get away from your thoughts for a few minutes, and I like my blog to be able to do that. That’s why I’ve decided to keep my opinions to myself, and keep this blog separate from anything political.
Thank you again so much for your kind words, for respecting my ways, and for your positive thoughts! 🙂 ♥

      • Yes… I hadn’t considered that. I don’t have a Facebook account and don’t watch Greek news (where I do know there is a LOT of fighting) so a lot of the ‘local’ online warfare goes unnoticed by me. My social circle deals with the situation either on a strictly factual level or we feel for the people in Greece but there are no quarrels. But of course you’re right, inhibitions are lowered online and people do get aggressive when it comes to politics, especially when they’re on the receiving end. That’s a smart decision of yours.

I think what I was trying to say is that you don’t have to feel you’re bumming us readers out by expressing any feeling you may have regarding current events, you come across as very genuine on your blog and that’s something I find very admirable about you. So if you did choose to vent sometime (though not necessarily on a political level per se), that would not be out of line or extraordinary for a reader in my opinion. There is no doubt at all from the way you write that you are a deep thinking person, and while you have absolutely succeeded in your goal to create a lovely distraction for your readers with your blog, at least international readers, from whose viewpoint I speak, must surely value these thoughts and insights you have if they, in turn, aren’t completely ignorant about the state of the beautiful country you live in.
Anyway, again, keep up the good work, and I’m so sorry the situation sucks so much right now. Here, it is the constant talk amongst everyone. Thanks for being awesome and replying to my comment even though I went off-topic and didn’t mention your outfit once 😉 (which is lovely by the way).

        • You’re lucky not to have a Facebook account these days! There’s nothing but quarrels there and the media in Greece are very politicized.and definitely not objective. You don’t know what and who to believe anymore. And everyone is so passionate about their opinions and beliefs, they want everyone else to follow them too.
I understood what you meant, and I’m glad you see it this way. I do vent from time to time in different matters, but I’m always really careful about what I’m writing here, because some subjects can be very sensitive. Political matters even more. And if I want to be judged about something here, I want it to be about the work I’m doing, not because of my beliefs.
Again, thank you so much for your super kind comment, and for taking the time to write it.
I’m sure there’s a lot of talk about Greece these days, especially in Germany, but I’m hoping that things will get sorted out soon. Because it’s true, the situation really sucks right now.
It’s my pleasure answering to comments, especially to really kind ones like yours.
Wish my English were better so I could answer in a better (& faster) way though. hehe
And thank you for complimenting my outfit! 🙂
