My birthday look

27 May, 2012

In my previous post, I shared with you the details of my party, as you asked me to, and now as promised I’ll share with you my “actual” birthday look. Not the one from my party on the 19th but the outfit I wore on my birthday on the 16th. It wasn’t a party, just a slow night out for me and my bf, who came to Thessaloniki, just for me, to celebrate my birthday! So we went out for dinner, and drinks at our usual, but favorite spot: TGI Friday’s. I’m so predictable, I know.

I took some quick pics (unfortunately inside the house, as it was really late) as I was waiting for him to pick me up. I really hope you like my look.

H&M dress (worn for the first time, after I’ve shown it to you on this post)(similar style here), Mango belt, Moschino bag, Guess pumps (similar style here and here), Donna Karan sunglasses, vintage necklace and watch, H&M cuff bracelet (similar style here and here), Yves Saint Laurent Arty Oval ring in mint green (see it up-close here)(buy it here in mint green, turquoise, and my next favorite blue).

Trench coat: Bershka (similar style here and here). Manicure close up here.

It was about time I wore this dress, as it was sitting in my closet for months, and it’s too sad, because I really loved it when I brought it home, but didn’t have the chance to wear it until now. I blame the crazy weather! At first we had really high “summer” temperatures for weeks, and now we’re having rain showers and high tens temperatures, for at least 2 weeks.

I also had the chance to officially “save” another pair of shoes for my Shoeper Shoe Challenge by Shoeperwoman.com, which I neglected all winter this year. I say officially because I wore it again last week, but didn’t have the chance to “save” it properly by photographing it (which also happened with another pair of “winter” shoes).

So this is Shoe Save #5/56 for me. I have a long road ahead of me, but I’m being positive. And I may or may not have 2 more pairs of shoes coming my way, to add up to my collection of 56 pairs of shoes (I still owe you photos of that collection, I haven’t forgotten).

Closing up with a small celebration.

By the always amazing staff of TGI Friday’s here in Pylaia, Thessaloniki, Greece.

Please stay tuned for the look from my birthday party on the 19th, in my next post. I really loved it!

    • Thank you Steph! They do, but I know most of the waiters by now and I asked them not to sing to me, even though we were 2 of the last customers there. But I’m too shy to have the whole TGIF looking at me…

  3. Looking good! Really like your dress especially with that belt and the colour really suits you.
Hope you enjoyed watching eurovision as I did. It’s a shame no one ever votes for the UK but I still enjoyed it and loved the russian grannies and the sexy man from Germany! The girl from Greece was stunning and I liked the way she used a man as a chair!
Looking forward to seeing your party outfit xx

    • Thank you so much Laura! I watched Eurovision, even though I knew we wouldn’t go well…Yes, I don’t know either why UK get so little votes, it’s really weird. This year we did even worse than usual, taking the 17th place. Although I didn’t like our song so much, but I did like Cyprus’ song La La Love, and I thought it would have gotten a higher score…
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! My party outfit will be up tomorrow! 🙂 I hope you like it as well!

    • Thank you! I love combining green with gold, or green with purple. I think it’s an amazing combination!
Yes, I had many celebrations for my birthday this year. In fact, I had 3, all with different people. I like to feel special on my birthday, and what’s a better way than having not one, but 3 celebrations? hehe 🙂

  4. Wow! You looked fabulous! (Well, you always look fabulous!) I simply loved ALL – the hair (with the waves!), nail polish (always amazing manicure, beautiful hands!) the dress – the color is fantastic! The shoes are also so elegant, the bag and that great ring! You were the star of the day, no doubt! I can picture you entering the offices of a very famous fashion magazine to tell the employees the magazine’s theme of the month! You totally fit such scene!
I am so glad you had a great birthday with your bf and then later your friends, you could be an event planner, what do you think? All so well prepared, so much love! Thanks for the invitation! I really would loooove to be teher and would love to go next year?
    Who knows? Life has surprises!!!!
Filakia polla, my dear beautiful and elegant friend!

    • Thank you so much for your amazing comment, my sweet, and beautiful friend! You made me blush and you made my day! hehe 🙂
I just took the nail polish off, and filed my nails…It’s so nice to see their natural color from time to time. I would love to have you here on my next birthday celebration, or even sooner if that’s possible…But you are so sweet, and you definitely deserve the same pampering as the rest of my friends…So you’re already invited for next year.
You know both jobs you described sound amazing. The fashion magazine job, sounds so glamorous, and I guess I would be dressing in beautiful clothes too. What a nice dream. As for the party/event planner, I was thinking about it more and more lately! I love these kinds of stuff. I would love to plan parties, weddings, and everything pretty and glamorous. I love big events. I “live” for these things. hehe But I guess it’s a job with a lot of stress…
Filakia pollaaaa!!! Cu soon…And stay tuned, cause tomorrow there’s gonna be a new post with the outfit from the party…I think you’ll like it even more…at least, I did… 😉

  5. M. you look fantastic! Love the green dress, I think green looks sooo good on you! And belated happy birthday! (it’s me…my-fashion-diary)

    • Oh hello Hatice! Good to talk to you again! Thank you so much for your comment and your wishes! 🙂 It’s also good to finally know your name…Although mine is also “a secret”! 🙂

  6. Oh, I absolutely love this – green and gold has always been one of my favourite combinations, and it looks perfect here! I tried that dress on a few months ago, but it wasn’t a good fit, unfortunately, so I’m really jealous that it looks so fantastic on you!

    • Oh thank you very much Amber! 🙂 I thought I needed to alter the dress a bit when I bought it, to get a perfect fit, but my mother said it doesn’t need to, so I left it as it was.
