Miss Robin Hood | Outfit post

13 August, 2012

This is the post I was originally going to publish last Friday, but decided to postpone, since almost nobody would be there to read it. I know August is the month in which most of you go on holidays, especially Greeks, because in August the 15th we celebrate the Assumption of Mary (as I told you last year too), one of the most important religious holidays in Greece (after Christmas and Easter). And because I really liked this outfit, I didn’t want to “waste a good outfit” and not give it the attention it “deserves”, so I decided to postpone it.  hehe

Fever dress with belt, Penny Black bag (spartoo), Buffalo Dasia sandals from Spartoo, Donna Karan sunglasses, Esprit watch, and Marella bangle bracelet.

GT Cosmetics no. 379 by Tommy G. nail polish on my toenails, and no. 6 (neon yellow, same brand) on my hands.

Stradivarius hat

I wore this outfit for an afternoon out, with my best friend (who gave me the inspiration for the title of this post). We went to an amazing place for coffee, while having the best view of the city. It’s one of the places I love to go, especially in summer because of its view.

I was in a “romantic” mood, and thought it would be great to go for a late coffee/early drink to watch the sunset.

This is just a very small sample of the view. The whole city of Thessaloniki was on our feet.

Late coffees were followed by drinks, as we were reminded by one of the stuff (we happen to know) that there was a full moon that night, and since we had the best seats, we should stay and enjoy it.

And you know, it was a great suggestion, and since we hadn’t anything else planned we did stay.

The sun setting in the distance while being reflected on the sea

Happy happy me twirling in my dress which I wore for the 2nd time that afternoon…

I also wore it on my last day in Chios but didn’t take any pics with it so I had so wear it again to show it to you, as it was my mom’s birthday present, a few months back.

Furthermore, it was the perfect dress to wear with my Buffalo Dasia sandals, I bought back then, for the first time, and at the same time “save” them, according to my Shoeper Shoe Challenge by Shoeperwoman.com. So, I present to you my Shoe Save #20.

In conclusion, it was an amazing afternoon, which leaded to an even more amazing night with my best friend and my cousin (who joined us for drinks).

See for yourself!

  1. The view is amazing! The views, in fact! Sunset and then lights – amazing, really! And I loved your outfit! Ok, so I think I like this one more than the other I said I do, but my favorite ever is the green and pink belt one, you know – but alas, that is not for a coffee afternoon – so this one is really one of my favorite outfits! I love the color, the shoes, the style of the dress and the hat! You look so happy and relaxed, and stylish of course! I bet it was a really great evening!
You reeeeally look awesome, and you know this, right? Fantastic pictures!

    • hehe I was looking at that dress (your favorite one) last night, and wondered if I’ll have a chance to wear it again before the summer ends. With T. away, I didn’t get to wear many of my dresses/clothes this summer, which is sad. I hope next year I’ll be able to wear them all. It’s making my shoe challenge more difficult too, since I don’t get out that much.
Thank you soooo much for your compliments! I loved wearing that outfit, and shoes, and I really loved the pics. By the way, the color of the dress is different in reality…it’s a light mint. I forgot to mention it.
      Filakia pollaaaa!!!

  3. This is possibly my favourite outfit I’ve ever seen you wear M! Love the colour on you and how you’ve paired it with the solid black bangle and belt, super stylish! Also your hair looks lovely and hope you don’t mind me asking as it is a bit personal but have you been on a diet because you seem to have shrunk!
Lastly, the views from that bar look amazing, you are so lucky to have this place close by. Wish I was there with you on your girlie night admiring the sunset! It’s not raining as much in the uk now but it’s still not warm enough to sit out at night even on a good day! And even if it was, I live in Birmingham right in the middle of the country so the nearest sea view is a couple of hours drive away!! xxx

    • Thank you so much Laura! I wanted to keep the outfit as simple as possible, as we were going for coffee and I was already wearing high heels (which usually makes any outfit look more formal), so I kept my accessories to a minimum.
Of course I don’t mind your asking, not at all! Don’t worry! Unfortunately, I’ve not been on a diet. And I say unfortunately because I really do need a diet, even if some of my readers say I don’t. I think it’s just an illusion created by the dress, and this might be one of the reasons why I loved this outfit, and this dress so much. My “problematic” areas were always between the belly and the thighs, so they are cleverly covered by the dress. Furthermore, I think I got a bit of a tan, especially on my legs, so it helps too. To be honest I actually gained 1 or 2 more kilos during summer. And that’s why I say I need a diet. Nothing extreme, just a few kilos.
It’s good that’s it’s not raining as much in the UK lately! I watched the closing ceremony by the way yesterday and loved it. I’m a huge fan of the Spice Girls and I was waiting for them to sing. hehe I didn’t know it is so cold you can’t even sit out. It’s a bit sad because I love sitting out, and I enjoy it so much, when spring comes, and we get out and enjoy the day. If you ever come to Greece, and especially in Thessaloniki where I live, I’d be happy to be your guide, and even take you to that cafe so you can see the amazing view of the city! The city center looks nearby, but it’s 20-30′ away by car. The cafe is on a “mountain”, very close to my home. 🙂

      • I don’t think you need to diet but it all comes down to how you feel about yourself. If you are ever having a down day just put this outfit on because its super flattering and you look hot in it!! I have a very similar body shape to you so I’m on the look out for a dress in this style!
Glad you enjoyed the closing ceremony and the spice girls, it was strange to see them all back together again! Their music so reminds me of being a teenager!
Lastly thank you for your kind offer, if I’m ever near Thessaloniki you’ll be the first person I think of! xxx

        • You’re welcome! I really mean it! 🙂
I must really keep this in mind! Because I do feel down some days, and a flattering dress can really help with my mood. Although, I’m not exaggerating about the diet. I need to lose some weight from a few problematic areas. I just know which clothes to wear to cover it, and that’s why most people don’t see it. At least not in photos! This dress helps a lot with our body shape, but it is a bit difficult to wear on windy days. You must be careful! hehe
The brand of the dress is Fever London, and I bought it from a store called Philly which I think is a UK one. The dress is called Fever London Artemis dress. You can see it in blue here. It cost me about 60 euros I think.
It was indeed strange to see the Spice Girls together again, but I enjoyed it very much! I was a teenager too when they were created, and it was my favorite band. So it brings me back many memories.
Thank you again so much for your comment! 🙂
