Pre-wedding preparations and bachelorette party

The second day after our arrival to Chios island we were invited to attend the pre-wedding preparations, which was a gathering at the house of the bride & groom to be, in order to make the matrimonial bed, and follow the common traditions. Per tradition, all unmarried ladies gather around to make the bed. The groom or the bride (depending on the local traditions) messes the bed 3 times, until he/she’s finally satisfied with the result. After that, they usually put a baby girl or baby boy on the bed (to bring fertility to the future spouses). Then, all guests throw rice/sugar-coated almonds (koufeta)/rose petals and money on the bed to wish prosperity for the couple. There’s usually a food buffet, and a traditional drink included.

This is what I chose to wear that day!

Pearl Bay Hotel – Chios

As you very well know, I spent 7 days at Chios island, for my cousin’s wedding, so I took many photos to share with you after my return. As soon as I booked our flight, I searched online for the perfect hotel for us to stay, when we get there. I’m very picky, when it comes to hotels, because I’m much of a germ phobic, and in addition to this, really old hotels with heavy decoration, cause me depression. That’s why I search a lot online for the perfect hotel, wherever I go, and so far I had the best of luck with my choices. And in this case, my choice was perfect! The hotel couldn’t be better!

My shoe collection

Last month, I joined the Shoeper Shoe Challenge by Shoeperwoman.com, where I have to “save” all my shoes by wearing each pair at least once in duration of a year. If you’re wondering why, or if you simply want to read the rules in case you want to join as well (yes you can join whenever you like), you can click here. In order to join the challenge, I had to count my shoes, to find the total number…Also as an extra (optional) step, all who join are asked to take photographs of their shoe collection/shoe closet, simply for the joy of eye candy.

I counted 56 pairs then, (I have a few more, but I didn’t want them to be part of this challenge for personal reasons), but as you know my collection grew to 59 pairs last month. But let’s take it from the beginning…

This is my shoe collection of 56 pairs…

Do you speak neon?

When you can’t find a proper title for your post (always a difficult task for me), this is what happens…you resort to wordplay with your blog’s name. It was the first thing that popped into my head and I said, why not?

I’m probably already back from my trip by now, but I thought just in case we were somehow delayed, I should schedule another one. This is an outfit I wore just before my trip, to go to lunch with T. and goodbye him, just before he returned to the army again, after spending almost 9 days in our town. Thank God for the 2nd time elections of our country. These flats may not be the perfect match, but I didn’t want to wear heels for the day, and I was in a hurry. Hope you like it….

July’s wishlist – summer edition

This month’s wishlist is gonna be less of a wishlist, and more of a summer essentials list. I’m writing this post in advance, because, as you already know I’m in Chios island for my cousin’s wedding, and I’m already in a summer holidays mood. Since we have hot summer weather here in Greece, all I can think lately is the beach, summer cocktails, and beautiful items to make my summer vacations more special. This post is a bit different from the usual wishlists I do, and I hope you welcome it with excitement. hehe
